It seems like social media is obsessed with cottage cheese and it is very easy to see why, this low cost cheese is low in saturated fat and high in protein, making it a great thing to eat if you are looking to increase your protein intake.

Whilst pastries are usually described as unhealthy I strongly believe you can enjoy your favourite foods without stopping your progress, it is all down to quantities and ingredient choices!

Here are the ingredients you will need:

  • 1 sheet ready rolled puff pastry
  • 3 tbsp cottage cheese
  • 3 turkey ham slices
  • Grated mozzarella cheese

Egg wash and sesame seeds to top

Method:

  1. Cut the puff pastry in half and spread the cottage cheese over one half
  2. Top with the ham and grated mozzarella and add some black pepper
  3. Top with the other pastry half, add some egg wash and sesame seeds
  4. Cut in smaller squares, approximately 12 portions
  5. Bake at 180c for around 20-25 minutes
