I have to admit I never tried a crumpet until I moved to the UK, I remember when trying thinking how can these be so good! Well these are way better than store bought and super easy to make!

Here are the ingredients you will need:

  • 150g flour
  • 170ml lukewarm water
  • 3g baking powder
  • 2g instant yeast
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Method:

  1. Combine flour, yeast, baking powder, salt and sugar and mix
  2. Add the water and combine well, the mix should be runny, rest for 30 minutes or until you see small bubbles forming
  3. Heat a skillet on high, add some mix and once some bubbles start forming turn the heat down
  4. When the bottom is golden brown turn the crumpet, cook the other side
  5. Serve with your favourite toppings and enjoy!
