These are the self care gifts I’d actually give: the things I use every day, plus a few low-waste swaps that make looking after yourself feel a bit nicer. My gift guides are usually all about the kitchen, but there’s something here for every budget, from a nail polish stocking stuffer to a proper splurge.

Hydration: Ocean Bottle
As a nutrition coach, the habit I nudge almost everyone towards first is simply drinking more water. I keep a bottle with me all day, and having it in sight is what reminds me to keep drinking. Staying hydrated supports digestion, and I really notice the difference in my skin and nails when I’ve been good about it. A bottle you actually like carrying makes the habit so much easier, which is why it’s one of my favourite self care gifts.
- Ocean Bottle insulated stainless steel bottle: a reusable stainless steel bottle with a sustainability story: Ocean Bottle funds the collection of ocean-bound plastic with every bottle sold. Stainless steel also means no plastic lining.
Low-waste bathroom swaps

SURI is the electric toothbrush I use. It’s designed to cut down on plastic waste: you replace the brush heads rather than the whole toothbrush, and it comes in lots of colours.
- SURI Sonic 2.0 toothbrush with UV cleaning travel case: the one I use and the one I’d gift.
- SURI replacement brush heads, 3-pack: a good little add-on or stocking stuffer for anyone who already has one.
- SURI Restore refillable gel toothpaste refill: the refill for SURI’s refillable toothpaste.
- Wild refillable natural deodorant: the deodorant I use. You buy the case once and then just the refills, which come in compostable packaging. Use my code ALEX20WILD.
- Kitsch shower filter: a simple screw-on shower filter designed to reduce chlorine in your shower water. It’s easy to fit and looks nice too.

For the cosy night in
- Piglet in Bed linen pyjama set: natural fibres matter so much to me. Your skin is your largest organ and it’s against your pyjamas for hours every night, so I’d much rather sleep in breathable linen or cotton than polyester. I’m slowly moving my whole wardrobe over to natural fibres, and linen pyjamas are such a lovely gift. They come in loads of prints.
Manucurist Green nail polish

This is what I’m wearing in the photo. Manucurist’s Green range is a plant-based polish that dries without a UV lamp, and it comes in lots of shades. One bottle makes an easy stocking stuffer.
- Manucurist Green natural nail polish: choose from 30 shades.
Skincare self care gifts I keep restocking
- SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule: a lightweight Korean serum made with centella asiatica extract. (Also on Amazon.)
- Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream: a rich, fragrance-free face and body cream in a big tub that lasts ages. Not glamorous, but it gets used. (Also on Amazon.)
- PHATOIL organic sweet almond oil: a cold-pressed, organic sweet almond oil you can use on skin, hair and cuticles. It’s a cheap, useful stocking stuffer.
The splurge: ZIIP HALO facial device

This is my ‘treat yourself’ pick. The ZIIP HALO is a handheld facial device that you use with a conductive gel as part of your skincare routine. It’s a splurge, so it’s one for a big birthday or Christmas gift (or a very good hint).

- ZIIP HALO nanocurrent and microcurrent facial device: the device itself (US link).
- ZIIP HALO with 3 extra conductive gels (UK): the UK bundle, which comes with extra gels.
- ZIIP Firm Gel (UK): the conductive gel you use with the HALO. A nice add-on gift if they already have the device.
A gift from me: Fuel & Flow
If someone in your life wants to eat better without another diet, you can gift them a Fuel & Flow membership. It’s built for exactly that: realistic, high-protein recipes and small habits, with no restriction. It’s the most “me” gift on this list.

Self care gift ideas: FAQ
What is a good self care gift?
Something they’ll use every day: a water bottle they love, a nicer toothbrush, cosy linen pyjamas or a skincare product they’d never buy for themselves. Everyday things make the best self care gifts because they get used.
What is a unique self care gift?
A sustainable swap feels more thoughtful than another candle. An Ocean Bottle, a refillable deodorant or a SURI toothbrush are useful and have a story behind them.
What are good self care stocking stuffers?
A Manucurist Green nail polish, a bottle of sweet almond oil, Wild deodorant refills (code ALEX20WILD), or SURI replacement brush heads for someone who already has the toothbrush are all small, useful gifts.
Do I need a special gel with the ZIIP HALO?
Yes. ZIIP says to use the HALO with a conductive gel, which is why the gels make a good add-on gift. Check ZIIP’s own guidance for how to use it. You can use my code BOTTING for 10% off.
