Ham & Cheese Arepa Waffle

✅ Easy to make

Back at home arepas are our main bread and the traditional way is to cook them over a skillet, I knew they would work perfectly in the waffle maker but OMG did they work, the most delicious crispy arepa I have ever had.

Here are the ingredients you will need:

  • 320g white maize flour
  • 30g light butter
  • Pinch of salt
  •  Around 350ml warm water (add more is mix too dry)
  •  I used ham and cheese for the filling

Method:

  1. Mix the flour, butter, water and salt
  2. Divide the dough into small size balls, flatten. To one thin arepa add some cheese and ham then cover with another thin arepa
  3. Add some sprays to your pre heated waffle maker and cook until it is as crispy as you like, I cooked mine for around 15-20 minutes
