✅ Easy to make
Back at home arepas are our main bread and the traditional way is to cook them over a skillet, I knew they would work perfectly in the waffle maker but OMG did they work, the most delicious crispy arepa I have ever had.
Here are the ingredients you will need:
- 320g white maize flour
- 30g light butter
- Pinch of salt
- Around 350ml warm water (add more is mix too dry)
- I used ham and cheese for the filling
Method:
- Mix the flour, butter, water and salt
- Divide the dough into small size balls, flatten. To one thin arepa add some cheese and ham then cover with another thin arepa
- Add some sprays to your pre heated waffle maker and cook until it is as crispy as you like, I cooked mine for around 15-20 minutes
