With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I love finding fun ways to make treats feel a little bit more special without going completely over the top. These Strawberry & Chocolate Waffle Pops are exactly that, playful, indulgent, but still rooted in balance.
From a nutrition coaching perspective, this is one of my favourite ways to handle “treat-style” recipes. You still get chocolate, waffles, and that romantic dessert vibe, but by using a protein pancake mix, these become a high protein snack that actually supports your goals instead of working against them. It’s a great reminder that healthy eating doesn’t mean removing fun foods – it’s about upgrading them.
These are perfect if you’re after easy healthy desserts, something cute for a date night, or a sweet option from your list of high protein recipes that doesn’t feel like a compromise.
Prepare the batter
Mix protein pancake mix with water according to the package instructions.
Coach tip: Thicker batter coats the strawberries better and gives crispier waffles.
Prep the strawberries
Remove the green tops, make a small cut at the base, and insert a wooden stick lengthwise.
Coach tip: Firm strawberries hold their shape best when heated.
Dip in chocolate
Coat each strawberry in melted dark chocolate and place in the fridge to set.
Coach tip: Chilling prevents the chocolate from melting into the batter.
Coat in batter
Once set, dip the chocolate strawberries into the pancake batter.
Coach tip: Let excess drip off so they don’t overflow the waffle maker.
Cook
Place into a waffle maker and cook until golden and crisp.
Coach tip: Avoid overfilling – less batter = easier removal.
Serve
Enjoy warm with syrup, extra chocolate, or fruit.

These Strawberry & Chocolate Waffle Pops are a fun and delicious way to enjoy a high-protein treat. Whether you’re making them for a special occasion or just as a sweet snack, they are sure to be a hit. Let me know if you give them a try.
