When I think about a breakfast that will get me out of bed very quickly I always think about croissants. There is something about flakey pastry which I just love, pair them with ham and cheese for the ultimate energy booster ready in no time.
Using ready rolled puff pastry makes these so easy to make, spread some extra cream cheese because the cheesier the better right? These will keep fresh for a couple of days but best to enjoy them warm.
Here are the ingredients you will need::
- 1 sheet of ready rolled puff pastry
- Around 3 tbsp reduced fat cream cheese
- 3 slices of honey roasted ham
- 3 slices reduced fat cream cheese
Egg wash and sesame seeds to top
Method:
- Spread the cream cheese over one side of the puff pastry
- Add the ham and cheese sliced over one side of the pastry and fold over
- Cut into long triangular shapes to form around 6 croissants, make a small cut in the longer end and roll (see video for technique)
- Put the croissants on a baking tray, add the egg wash and top with some sesame seeds
- Bake at 200c for around 15 minutes and enjoy!
